The Impact of CEPA on growth opportunities
in Hong Kong and Guangzhou

With the immense opportunities brought by CEPA, a group of 8 senior officials from Guangzhou including Mr Xie Bao Huai, the secretary of Huangpu District Committee made a study tour to Hong Kong from Oct 13 to 16, 2003. The itinerary included visiting e-commerce Logistics Group and attending a forum on Oct 14.

The forum organized by China (Huangpu) Investment & Consultants Limited and its associate companies was held at the CharterHouse Hotel. Leaded by senior officials of Huangpu, Guangzhou, Mr L.Y. Wang, Chairman of Roly International Limited & Director of ecL, and Mr Simon N. Hsu, Chairman & CEO of ecL were invited to be the speakers at the forum. It facilitated discussion between the government officials and Hong Kong businessmen on "exploring business opportunities in Guangzhou", and helped Huangpu (a major port in Guangzhou) to reposition itself and boost its ties with Hong Kong.

Followed by the forum, ecL had the honour to have the officials visited its office at Tesbury Centre and presented its proprietary Warehouse Management System with live demo.
