Foreign-invested logistics enterprises can now be set up in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces, and in the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.

Such foreign-invested logistics enterprises are expected to integrate transport, warehousing, loading, processing, packaging, delivery, information management, and imports and exports as a complete supply chain with one-stop logistics services.

Regulations recently laid down by The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation for establishing foreign-invested logistics enterprises include :

- The firms are expected to have at least US$5 million in registered capital together with a fixed location of operations and the necessary facilities.
- The largest shareholder is required to have a good track record and be experienced in transport or logistics.
- Overseas investors in a foreign-invested logistics enterprise that engages in international distribution of logistics services will be limited to a 50% share.
- After approval, a firm can operate for 20 years, and extension can be applied through the original authorities.

外商投資物流企業現可設於江蘇省、浙江省、廣東省、北京 市、天津市、重慶市、上海市、深圳市。

外商投資物流企業應該能夠根據實際需要，選擇貨物的運輸、倉儲、裝卸、加工、包裝、配送、信息處理以及進出口等環節實施有機結合，形成比較完整的供應鏈，為用戶提供多功能一體化服務。

申請設立外商投資物流企業的投資者須具備的條件包括：
- 註冊資本不得低於500萬美元，並有固定的營業場所及必須的營業設施。
- 投資者中的第一大股東應具有經營交通運輸或物流的良好業績和營運經驗。
- 從事國際流通物流業務的外商投資物流企業中境外投資者股份比例不得超過50%。
- 外商投資物流企業的經營期限一般不得超過20年。經原批准機關批准，外商投資物流企業可以延長經營期限。
